FAQ for Donors

When do items need to be received?

  • We would like to confirm all items at least two weeks before the auction, to allow our team to put them onto the auction site and collect all needed assets.
  • Please email stella.plato@mcpublic.org to arrange a drop-off at the school or to schedule a volunteer to pick up the item from your place of business.

What types of items are you looking for?

  • We would love to highlight as many local businesses as we can. 
  • We may combine items together to create experiences and increase the overall value of the item. For example - a “West Asheville Night Out” package may include several restaurant gift cards. 

Are my donations tax-deductible?

  • For the item donor (you!): We will prepare a gift receipt for you for the fair market value of the item.
  • For the item winner: Donors who purchase items may claim a charitable contribution deduction for the excess of the purchase price paid for an item over its fair market value.
  • We are a registered 501c3.

Will my business receive any public acknowledgment? 

  • All businesses that donate items will be thanked on our website, social media, and on the auction webpage. 
  • Please let us know if you would like to donate anonymously.
