Jobs

Mountain City Public Montessori believes that teachers deserve to work in a supportive environment and receive salaries in alignment with their professional skills and talents. We are committed to increasing teacher salary over time, while also building a positive, supportive, person-centered work environment.

Because we are a public Montessori school, we give preference to applicants with an NC teaching license (or ability to obtain one) or Montessori certification. Benefits package includes the state health plan and a 3% retirement match.

Applicants may view our MCPM lead teacher salary schedule. Years teaching in private Montessori or public non-Montessori are counted at 75%, years teaching in public Montessori are counted at 100%.

Mountain City Public Montessori is currently implementing an updated leadership structure designed to better support the complexity of a growing public Montessori school. Rather than concentrating many responsibilities in a single role, we are distributing leadership across several specialized positions focused on instructional leadership, Montessori practice, and student support systems.

This intentional shift strengthens clarity, sustainability, and collaboration within our participatory leadership model. The positions currently posted are new or refined roles created as part of this organizational design, and we are excited to welcome leaders who are committed to Montessori education and public school innovation.
